Alfajores from El Almacen
In a small departure from my usual wellness content comes a few adjacent gratitude posts for the Toronto and GTA Wedding Vendors who went above and beyond for us during our wedding week. Check out the vender below and give them a shout - I highly, HIGHLY recommend their work. I hope my gratitude for them shines through.

Alfajores are one of life’s exceptional cookies. Two delightfully crumbly and buttery shortbread cookies are sandwiched together with delectable dulce de leche, and then rolled in shredded coconut. Alfajores might solve all your problems – but only if they’re done right. At El Almacen at 1917 Weston Road in Toronto, they are. Stella and Silvio of El Almacen Yerba Mate Café made the alfajores for our mehndi night, and we picked them up the day of so that they would be fresh for our guests. We confirmed our order by email, and they were prompt with their responses and replies. It was wonderful to speak to the owners, and find out they were from the Weston Road area where they currently have their store location. These are my husband’s favourite cookies, and were a big part of his childhood. We loved supporting a home grown and local business while getting the sweetest of sweet treats for our mehndi night.
