Mindfulness plays a key role in our anti-racism work.

What is Mindful Anti-Racism for your business?

This is diversity, equity and inclusion work with an innovative take. We begin our Mindful Anti-Racism discussions by asking employees to fill out an anonymous form with any of their questions surrounding anti-racism and justice. Once we’ve established a base level of learning, we’re able to tailor a timeline of events to support employees on their anti-racism journeys. We are open to leading mindful anti-racism work in person in Toronto and online. Our DEI-AR work is tailored to Canadian history and Canadian racism.

Mindfully learning about anti-racism brings focus to the way our bodies and minds react when discussing topics like prejudice, race, policing, white supremacy, Canadian history, and more. This approach combines the education and information we need for the mind, with the awareness we must bring to our bodies’ reactions to racism, stereotypes, micro-aggressions, and prejudice. Only then can we work on unlearning our biases in full. This means understanding the emotions and experiences of our bodies and minds while we discuss racialized themes and topics. We sit with the discomfort we experience in order to experience growth. It allows us to notice the ways we have been conditioned or taught to see the people around us, whether we are white or racialized and minoritized.
